3.6 Record & Comments — Installation Steps
(this becomes the tech walk-through checklist; one step per sentence or paragraph)
FOK – OSE CAN MIXED MOUNTING SURFACE At locations where OSE cans are installed in confined or delicate spaces, the mounting method will accommodate split surface conditions while maintaining structural integrity and alignment. For this condition, the left half of the OSE can be secured directly to sheet metal, and the right half will be secured to Unistrut. The Unistrut will be mechanically fastened to the structural frame using appropriate hardware and supported with L-brackets to ensure rigidity and load distribution. The Unistrut assembly will be installed plumb and level prior to mounting the OSE can, with all L-brackets fully secured to prevent flex or movement. All connections between Unistrut, brackets, and frame will be tightened and verified before can installation. The OSE can be positioned so that the top of can remains at exactly 6'-0" AFF, consistent with FOK standards. Care will be taken to ensure the enclosure is not twisted or stressed due to the mixed mounting surfaces. All fasteners into sheet metal will be appropriate for the material and installed flush and tight to prevent deformation or loosening over time.
